Katie McCarthy is Lumanity’s Senior Vice President and Practice Lead of Clinical and Regulatory Services, where she drives the strategic vision and operational excellence of the practice. She leads a high-performing team, expands the service portfolio, enhances capabilities, and fosters sustainable growth—all while maintaining an unwavering focus on delivering innovative solutions that improve patient outcomes and drive client success.

With decades of industry experience across academic, biotech, and consulting roles, Katie brings a unique blend of leadership expertise and deep knowledge in clinical development and regulatory strategy. Before joining Lumanity, she served as Chief Innovation Officer at Halloran Consulting Group, where she was instrumental in shaping the company’s growth strategy and expanding its service offerings. During her tenure at Halloran, she guided numerous biopharma clients, built and led high-impact consulting practices, and provided strategic direction on clinical development portfolios and complex drug development challenges.

Katie’s career began at Massachusetts General Hospital, where she worked as a Clinical Research Coordinator in the Memory & Movement Disorders unit. She then moved to Biogen, where she held multiple leadership positions in Program and Alliance Management, Medical Research, Organizational Effectiveness, Clinical Development, and Clinical Operations, further honing her expertise in driving innovation and operational excellence.

Beyond her professional achievements, Katie is deeply committed to mentorship and community service. She serves on the Life Science Cares Board of Advisors and its Grant Committees and actively supports the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center MassNextGen Program as an advisor and coach, empowering the next generation of life sciences leaders.
