The newly established linkage between the Netherlands Heart Registry (NHR) and the PHARMO Data Network connects detailed cardiovascular data with longitudinal primary and secondary healthcare information to enable comprehensive real-world research in the Netherlands. This linkage supports rigorous investigation of treatment patterns, patient trajectories, and cardiovascular outcomes across the full care continuum.

The Netherlands Heart Registry (NHR) is a nationwide, physician-driven quality registry covering invasive cardiac interventional, electrophysiological, and surgical procedures across Dutch hospitals. The registration aims to maintain and improve quality of care by collecting, analyzing and reporting data across hospitals in the Netherlands. Registry data are refreshed annually, and are structured across 11 condition- and procedure-specific registrations:

    • Congenital heart defects, and acquired heart defects in children

    • Ablation

    • Acute Coronary Syndrome

    • Atrial Fibrillation

    • Cardiac Surgery

    • Congenital Cardiac Surgery

    • Endocarditis

    • Heart Failure (HF)

    • Pacemaker/ICD

    • Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI)

    • Transcatheter Heart Valve Intervention (THI)
