Internship Class of 2025
This summer, my experience with the Lumanity Strategy Consulting Internship Program was incredible. From day one, I felt so welcomed by the team and I am so grateful to have worked with Jennifer McCann, Engagement Manager, Strategy Consulting, who was an exceptional mentor and leader. She fostered a collaborative environment and helped me grow by offering consistent and constructive feedback. I also had the opportunity to work on two white papers, a task beyond my typical intern responsibilities. Lumanity creates an environment for interns to contribute to meaningful work and truly values everyone as an essential team member.
My main role this summer involved primary market research. I have been fortunate to have contributed to every single stage of the project from writing the discussion guide to leading interviews, with both physician and patients, to eventually synthesizing the findings and building the client slide deck. In addition to the research techniques I learned from this end-to-end experience, I learned how to effectively communicate with clients, act as a team player, and strengthen my time prioritization skills.
This program has greatly influenced my career path, steering me towards a future in life sciences consulting. Initially on a pre-med track and unsure of my direction, this summer allowed me to dive deeper into my passion for the intersection of science, business, and patient advocacy. Being at the forefront of advancements and knowing that my work can have a real, albeit indirect, impact on people’s lives fills me with a great sense of pride. I would recommend this internship to any student, regardless of their major, who is intellectually curious, collaborative, and eager to be challenged.
While this program focuses on professional development, it also promotes building personal connections and having fun! There are several events and opportunities to engage with colleagues outside of the office. One of my favorite memories was participating in the pottery class. As an artist, it was so fun to share that side of myself with other coworkers. It’s clear that Lumanity cares about the whole person and fostering a strong sense of community. I am thankful to have been part of the team this summer!
