Claire Aukim-Hastie PhD

VP Scientific Strategy and Engagement, Communications

As Vice President of Scientific Strategy and Engagement in Lumanity’s medical communications team in the UK, Claire Aukim-Hastie is responsible for providing scientific direction, accuracy and excellence in project delivery and growth initiatives for both existing or new customers.

Claire spent a significant portion of her career in academia. Through over ten years of post-doctoral research and lecturing, Claire led 19 publications and received speaker invitations at international cancer conferences.

In 2011, Claire moved into commercial writing: producing publications, market access dossiers, health technology assessments, implementation tools, and conducting guideline research.

At IMS Health/IQVIA she developed expertise in team leadership, clinical trial strategy, and medical affairs. In addition, Claire worked collaboratively with patients and their advocates on disease awareness campaigns, and ensuring the patient voice was thoroughly present in CME materials.

Before joining Lumanity, Claire was Head of Scientific Services at Scientific Education Support, building and managing a senior team of Scientific Directors and Editors, located in the US, Europe, and India. This role involved leading the delivery of IME and CME content for 9 digital platforms in distinct therapeutic areas to global HCP audiences, with responsibility for the overall scientific strategy and direction of the platforms and liaison with stakeholders including patient associations, key opinion leaders, and industry sponsors.

Claire is a Registered Adult Nurse and holds a PhD in Oncology from University College London.
