Kim joined MedErgy, now Lumanity, in 2012 as a Medical Writer, her first position in medical communications, and has since grown professionally within the organization. In her current role as a leader of the Medical department, Kim contributes to Medical departmental resourcing, leads regular meetings to facilitate discussions amongst senior Medical team members and ensures consistent knowledge transfer, and manages and mentors several Senior Medical Writers and Associate Scientific Directors. She is a member of the US Communications grown committee and the Enterprise Scientific Advisory Board. She has served as scientific lead for numerous large, multi-faceted Medical Affairs accounts supporting high-throughput activity in collaboration with cross-functional client teams across therapeutic areas. She has her CMPPTM certification to recognize her expertise as a medical publications professional.

Before joining Lumanity, Kim earned her PhD in biochemistry and molecular biology from the University of Chicago where she studied the functional genomics of tRNA and performed postdoctoral research at the University of Pennsylvania where she continued her work in RNA biology, studying the role of alternative splicing in the epithelial to mesenchymal transition and the molecular mechanisms behind the genetic motor neuron degenerative disease, spinal muscular atrophy.
